Most of my graphic design projects are from school, as I have yet to get any professional gigs. That's why I went to school right? I saved my school projects, as I believe they showcase my skills and my improvements over time. As you go through the design portion of my website, you will not only see my skills, but be informed of the project requirements and the reasonings and stylistic choices behind the finished products.
![]() Album RedesignThis was for a Media Design class my last term in college. We were supposed to take an existing band's album cover and experiment with redesigning it. Using a drawing tablet and PhotoShop, I decided to redesign Motorhead's well known Ace of Spades album. Taking if from a portrait of the band, to a colorful, more minimalistic, and representative design. | ![]() Don't Feed HongryThis design was thought of for my friend's deck graphic for his skate company. Our friend in our skateboarding crew has been nicknamed "Big Hongry". While this design is simple and rather amateur in appearance, that is intentional. We decided to do a parody of the episode of Viva La Bam, when Bam Margera and friends were trying to help his dad, Phil Margera, lose weight. Over the course of the episode, Bam paid for billboards that said, "Don't Feed Phil". | ![]() Mullet ClubThis one is another personal parody. My friend and I wanted to make a faux-motorcycle club for we friends with long hair, called the Mullet Club. The name isn't about actual mullets, but rather a play on the famous pro-wrestling faction the "Bullet Club". | ![]() Culture JamThis was another school project for my Digital Art class. The idea was a culture jam, a parody of a popular or corporate logo for humor or social commentary purposes. This one was of course a humorous take on the idea of social media stardom. |

![]() Personal LogoThis logo that you see on the website was also for my media design class. For this assignment we were supposed to come up with a graphics based resume for when we applied to media jobs. A common occurrence was creating our own personal logo. This is my personal logo. My initials, "SMD" with my favorite color scheme and an eye catching and succinct representation of myself. |
